This is a temporary position
40 hours per week

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree
Masters Degree in a program of Library and Information Studies preferred

Other Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, strong computer and database skills, and at least one year of demonstrated experience handling archival and library collections.

Job Description/Duties:
The Collections Assistant in the Bailey Library & Archives will work with staff and conservators to help prepare archives, image archives, and library collections for the move and installation in the Museum's new Rocky Mountain Science Collection Center. The position will involve inventory, cataloging, re-housing, and moving of collections.

Community:
The Bailey Library & Archives collections consist of over 50,000 publications, more than 800,000 image objects, and more than 2100 cf of archival documentation. The staff consists of 2.5 librarians, 1 image archivist, 1 archivist, 1 photographer, and a half-time videographer.
Other Information:
This is a full-time term position slated to last 4-5 years. Starting date early 2010.
