Job Description

a) Provides telephone support to staff for all computer related problems in the District. Performs diagnostics and repairs when possible over the phone. Performs basic troubleshooting on the phone system. Triages support calls to appropriate IT staff if necessary. b) Provides support to remote patrons concerning elements of IT infrastructure/operations in the District. c) Maintains online support database, enters trouble tickets and redirects trouble tickets to other staff members as appropriate. Maintains inventory information in online support database. d) Replaces defective components such as monitors, keyboards, mice, etc. At times, may replace hard disk drives, motherboards, etc. e) Assists IT Support Technicians in constructing software builds to meet the needs of targeted customer groups. f) Performs routine preventive maintenance of software and hardware, including applying patches, updating virus signatures, etc. g) Assists the website developer and other designated staff in maintaining the staff intranet Wiki and other internal communications tools. h) Shares on-call page responsibilities with other Information Technology Department staff members. This may involve weekend and evening hours. i) Maintains databases to track computer related information, including hardware and software inventories. Maintains and enhances systems troubleshooting documentation. j) Assists in organizing systems equipment storeroom and moves/lifts computer equipment, which may weigh up to 50 lbs. k) Provides technical assistance and project expertise to other Information Technology projects in any of the five work teams: Applications Development, Integrated Library System, Telecommunication and Networks, Customer Service, and/or Servers and large-scale applications l) Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requires physical effort generally involving standing, stooping, bending, lifting, etc. Fairly light level of activity, not consistent throughout the workday. May lift and move computer equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. periodically. Use of safety procedures is usually necessary. Requires a valid CO driver's license, state required min. of personal auto insurance, and use of a personal vehicle to travel between branches as necessary with mileage reimbursement.
