PublicPURPOSE:
Position will work 20 hpw providing information, referral and reader's advisory services to patrons in person, by phone, mail, and via electronic means at the Arvada Library.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Performs moderately complex activities; advises patrons on appropriate materials; locates materials through the use of electronic databases in JCPL, other library systems, or other sources. refers patrons to community resources and other appropriate resources for further information as necessary, and advises about online searching. Uses high-level customer service skills to determine patron needs and create a positive, inviting atmosphere for all patrons. Confers with more experienced librarians on more complex issues.
Master's Degree
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in library/information science. Strongly prefer experience working with community groups or special projects (ie; Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Clubs, etc).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be available to work some evenings, weekends and minor holidays.
