InstitutionalThis position works directly with offenders, providing public/school-type (not law) library services to adult male offenders in a state correctional facility where over 90% of the population uses the library.

High School or Equivalent
2 years of library experience required
Two years of general (public, school, academic or special (not law) library experience including typing, ordering, preparing, shelving and maintaining library materials.
SUBSTITUTIONS: Two years of course work from an accredited college or university including twelve semester hours of library science course work may substitute for two years of the general library experience.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Computer skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and integrated library systems; Customer service skills; Training/instructing: ability to teach others how to do something; Active listening: ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
Applicants must be Colorado residents, at least 21 years of age and have no felony convictions. The following must be submitted: DOC employment application, self-screening form, working email address, college/university transcripts, DD214 (veterans only), Training and Experience Narrative Examination, Certification and Appeal Rights forms.
