Apply today for a chance to be a part of Douglas County Libraries “environment of change and innovation!” GENERAL SUMMARY: The Associate Director of Information Technology is responsible for leading efforts to fulfill the organization’s vision and mission through the effective provision of information technology, communications technology, Web administration and Contact Center services. This includes responsibility and oversight of computer services and applications, systems, networks, security and communications for the district. This position supervises and directs the work of the Information Technology staff. This position serves as a member of the District’s senior management team and participates in the District planning and goal setting process. The position performs duties involving responsibilities which affect the entire library district. The position handles details of a confidential nature, and requires broad knowledge of library operations and policies, and a high level of experience, discretion, and technical skill. Work is performed using independent judgment and initiative. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: • Thorough knowledge of the resources, procedures, and practices of the information technology field is required. • Technical knowledge of computers, networks, system design and implementation; security, anti-virus, firewalls, backup procedures and disaster recovery methods is required. • Knowledge of switches, hubs and Ethernet technology; LAN/WANs; network and telecommunications systems design; Linux and Microsoft operating systems and server technology is required. • Extensive experience in enterprise-wide project management as well as proven success in developing and implementing strategic/operational business plans is required. • Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with all levels of personnel. Must also possess strong listening skills. • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, influence and work collaboratively and effectively with a broad spectrum of individuals, in a complex work environment, as well as the ability to champion and successfully implement change is required. • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, staff, vendors and the community. • Ability to be an effective negotiator. • Demonstrated ability to effectively create and manage budgets and expenditures is required. • Must be able to conceptualize the nature of technical problems and determine ways to implement innovative and cost-effective solutions. • Demonstrated commitment to excellent internal and external customer service is required.
