The Auraria Library, serving the University of Colorado Denver, Downtown Denver Campus; Metropolitan State University of Denver; and the Community College of Denver seeks a dynamic, energetic and innovative Library Marketing and Communications Professional. This individual collaboratively creates strategies for and implements initiatives to meet the Library’s outreach, communications, and promotional needs via a variety of venues including print and online publications, websites, digital signage, email, social media, displays, events, and person-to-person contact. Target audiences include campus faculty and students (current and prospective), campus leadership, the broader academic community, donors, the media, and the general public. This position is part of the Library’s Education, Research, and Information Services (ERI) management team. The programs of ERI Services include Information Delivery, Instruction, Collection Development and Maintenance, Research Consultation, Resource Sharing/Inter-Library Loan, Circulation, and Course Reserves. Engagement with students and faculty to connect information and research with the curriculum and learning is key. This position requires an enthusiastic marketing professional who understands the teaching and research mission of an academic library and demonstrates passion for the Library’s vision to be the heart of the learning experience on our diverse, urban campus.
Produce marketing collateral including web content, print brochures, mailers, newsletters, emails, online and print advertisements, print/digital signage, event calendars, multi-media, and other marketing materials that communicate, inform and persuade.
With internal and external stakeholders, collaboratively develop and implement a marketing and communication plan to heighten awareness, understanding, and engagement with the Library’s services, collections, activities, and initiatives.
Craft consistent and effective messages, marketing collateral, materials for media, and brand standards to represent and promote the Library. Help promote Library special events. Analyze and assess effectiveness of messages, collateral, and distribution channels.
Coordinate across Library departments to clarify responsibilities, negotiate priorities for creating marketing deliverables, and manage a marketing budget. Includes serving on the Library Communications Committee.
Assist the Library’s Director of Development to create diverse communication and marketing collateral for donors.
Communicate Library goals and strategic plan to a variety of constituencies by creating compelling success stories and marketing material . For example, collaborate with the Library’s subject and academic support teams to cultivate relationships and informed learning goals with the Schools and Colleges and across campus to advance wider campus goals, such as recruitment and retention of faculty and students, pipeline programs, international exchanges, and the first year experience.

Bachelor's Degree (Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred).
Minimum of 2 years experience in marketing or communications related fields.
Experience with graphic design, layout, and production along with use of software such as Adobe Create Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, HTML and email/event marketing portals.
Excellent written communication and editing skills.
Experience in a higher education and/or in an academic library.
Knowledge in effective digital signage deployment.
Experience with creating and managing a brand identity
Experience in developing, implementing, and assessing successful marketing and communication strategies.
Demonstrated experience with best practices in print, electronic/digital media, web, and social media communications.
