Job Description

The Branch Supervisor represents the library and the entire District in an enthusiastic, positive manner to both the staff and the community, with overall responsibility for library functions, staff and building, programs, working with District managers in relevant areas. He/she is also a key participant in the daily operation of the library. The Supervisor is considered the expert in the branch for technology, computer questions,ebooks, and office equipment. Must be able to share this knowledge with staff and patrons. Position requires the physical stamina to supervise the branch as well as perform circulation duties. Must be innovative, self-motivated and a team player. Must be able to work at varied times, including evenings and weekends, at either branch if needed.

We are looking for a person who wants to make a difference in a small community and at the same time be a part of a forward looking library district where there are exciting possibilities and opportunities for growth.Proficiency in technology, computers, Microsoft Office, the internet, office equipment. Must be able to stand and/or walk for 4 hours or more per day; bend and stretch without limitation; lift up tp 35-50 pounds at a time; push a loaded book cart.

The Community

The Florissant Public Library is the gathering place, the focal point for the small community it serves. Patrons come from Florissant and Divide as well as Park County and Cripple Creek. Located about 15 miles west of Woodland Park on Highway 24, the library is one of the few places in the community where people can come to meet with friends, use computers (many residents rely on the library for internet/computer access), and have community meetings. The community is rural, friendly and low key. The library offers a District-wide floating collection, e-resources and databases available 24/7, public computers, children's storytimes, meeting room space and a friendly welcoming staff.
