Visiting Reference / Instruction Librarian

Job Description

Temporary position, ending June 30, 2013, with a strong possibility of renewal. Responsibilities: Teach sessions in the Library’s instruction program in coordination with Introductory and Intermediate Composition courses. Teach faculty requested bibliographic instruction sessions, as assigned. Shares staffing the reference desk, 10-14 hours weekly, including an evening shift. Assist in collection development in areas to be determined. Participate on Library management teams. Depending on skills and experience, possibly assist with Integrated Library System (Innovative Interfaces Inc.) troubleshooting and Library Web site design,.

Other Required/Preferred Skills & Experience

Required: Ability to work independently and contribute as part of a team; excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills; proficiency in use of online search systems.
Preferred: Library instruction experience, especially classroom teaching; library reference experience or equivalent; strong technology skills, including HTML editing and ILS experience.
