AcademicThe Media Assistant assists the Media Coordinator and Full Time Media Assistant in all operations of the Media Services Department with a strong emphasis on evening and weekend services; assists the Media Services Coordinator and the Media Services Librarian in the areas of equipment recommendations and purchases; supervises all available evening and weekend student assistants and works with the Coordinator regarding the hiring of student assistants. This position trains and supervises any available student assistants and could often be required to single-handedly maintain the department. The Assistant also oversees operations of the multimedia production lab facility and will often provide audiovisual support for major events.

Bachelor's Degree
A BA or BS from an accredited college, preferably with a major in a related field or significant practical experience in the field is preferred.
Two years of experience in media, communications and/or library related fields is required. Successful candidates will be fully competent regarding the set up and use of multi-media systems, including basic skill in equipment maintenance and repair. Candidates will have strong verbal and written skills; some supervisory experience; some experience in media production, specifically audio and video; and must be exceptionally service oriented.
