The schedule will be determined by the needs of the department and will include evening and weekend hours. Salary Range: $20.89 - $26.08 per hour starting salary range; $20.89 - $33.32 per hour full salary range. The City and County of Denver benefits package will be offered. Duties and Responsibilities: This librarian works with all ages of customers providing reference services including history of the Trans-Mississippi West and genealogy. Performs community outreach and acquires manuscripts. Assists in the development and maintenance of a special library collection requiring specialized handling, security, and subject expertise. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the history of the American West with emphasis on Denver and Colorado. Knowledge of archival practices, reference services and acquisitions. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Working knowledge of on-line information retrieval. Ability to work with a diverse group of people. Ability to oversee the acquisition of manuscripts including legal and donor issues. Experience: One year of professional librarian experience and one year experience working with archival documents, records, processes, maintenance and preservation.
