Qualifications:
Required:

An ALA-accredited M.L.S. or MLIS;
Extensive knowledge of online and print information resources;
Excellent written and oral communication skills; and
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

Preferred:

Second master's degree;
Teaching experience - in the classroom and online,
Academic library reference experience; and
Knowledge of and experience with current technology.

Responsibilities:

Lead research and resource use instruction sessions. This will include assistance to on-campus and distance students through the development of online tools and tutorials;
Provide high quality, student-centered reference services in person, and via electronic communication; and
Participate as part of a team-oriented library instruction program.

The Reference & Instruction Librarian will be one of three librarians reporting to the Director of Libraries. The Reference & Instruction Librarian will serve as a departmental liaison while providing reference service and participating as part of Williams Library's on-campus and online instruction team. Communication skills and collegial attitude toward colleagues within the library and on the NSU campus are essential. Beulah Williams Library is a Carnegie MA I, multi-purpose regional, state-supported institution offering associate, baccalaureate, and graduate degrees.
