Job Description
35% COORDINATION - Coordinates implementation of decisions in the areas of Outreach to special populations, language, literacy and mobile library services by project planning, assisting the Manager with project teams, developing guidelines, troubleshooting problems, and communicating with stakeholders in order to facilitate changes in operations and support practices. 35% SUPERVISION - Supervises language, literacy and mobile library services employees by planning, coaching, and reviewing performance in order to optimize the performance of employees. 15% CONTINUOUS PROCESS IMPROVEMENT - Evaluates practices in language, literacy and mobile library services by collecting and analyzing data in order to make recommendations that facilitate the continuous improvement of library operations and support processes. 10% RESEARCH - Researches trends in public library outreach, language, literacy and mobile library services support by performing literature searches, conducting surveys, analyzing information and preparing recommendations in order to provide information for management decision making. 5% LIAISON - Provides input by participating in non-library agency partner meetings and professional conferences and communicating changes in operations and support practices in order to effectively collaborate with Library District community partners.Additional Info & Requirements
Experience: Five years to ten years of similar or related experience. Education: Equivalent to a college degree and a professional certificate or a graduate degree. Skills: Values including compassionate, inclusive, alert and responsive, dependable, and accessible. Experience with supervision. Experience in public library outreach. Customer relations, including trust, tact, empathy, conscientiousness, conformity, focus, courtesy, flexibility, vocabulary, and math. Emotional intelligence, including self-regard, emotional self-awareness, assertiveness, independence, self actualization, empathy, social responsibility, interpersonal relationship, stress tolerance, impulse control, reality testing, flexibility, problem solving, optimism, and happiness. The Arapahoe Library District, a public library system serving more than 200,000 residents living in Arapahoe County. Arapahoe County and other major suburban counties make up the greater metropolitan area surrounding Denver, Colorado. The Arapahoe Library District operates eight branch libraries, an Outreach Service that provides mobile library services, and a library at the County Detention Center, funded by the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Department.
