Collection Processing & Maintenance
o Process newly cataloged items, including adding call numbers to publications; creating item records, serial records, and index pages.
o Legislation is checked in and distributed daily during the legislative session.
o Shelve publications.
o Maintain map case.
o Claim budgets, catalogs, and other items as appropriate.
o Depository mailing sent out once each month.
o Monthly and quarterly check all URL’s in bib records, update bib records with changes.
o Monthly record maintenance for items deposited into the digital repository.
o Update classification schedule with changes provided by cataloguer.
o Wrap collection for preservation.
o Shift when necessary.
o Facilitate binding of applicable documents when needed.
o Search agency websites for state publications not sent to the Colorado State Publications Library.
o Maintain the stacks area.
o Enter new serial titles in III as soon as they are cataloged.
o Create index page for serials as needed.
o Maintenance on existing records performed independently.
o Change/deletion lists are done by listing call number, changes or deletions for depositories.
o Applicable multi-volume serials are bound and their item records created when needed (i.e. new issues).
o Maintain EBSCO subscriptions, claim missing issues, check in and circulate journals to Colorado State Library staff.
o Fill State Publications interlibrary loan and Prospector requests.
o Create patron records, check out materials to patrons, and notify patrons of overdue materials.
Other duties as assigned.
The Colorado State Publications Library work group is a small team that collaborate in their daily work. It is a part of the State Library.
Minimum one (1) year web experience.
Ability to problem solve.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Demonstrated experience working with technology, spreadsheets, databases, and file management.
Ability to work collaboratively with the work team as well as working on your own.
Ability to lift 40 pounds.
Ability to deal with the physical requirements of shelving, shifting a collection, and standing on ladders.
Ability to pass a background check.
