Job Description
Provides vision and leadership for the Helen Fowler Library by acting on own initiative and direction to manage all library aspects to ensure the advancement of the Library and Denver Botanic Gardens. This includes community relations, audience development, staff supervision; materials acquisition; resource management; technical services; reference services and circulation, including interlibrary loan (ILL); archival collections; and rare book/special collections care.
Additional Info & Requirements
Master's degree in library science (MLS/MLIS), preferably from an ALA-accredited program; minimum of two years supervisory experience and four years related experience and/or training. Must have experience with all aspects of library services including staff supervision, budget and project management, on-line library tools, reference, acquisitions, patron services, and staff/volunteer training. Must possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, and knowledge of advancements in library technology, including best practices for digitization and other electronic modes of sharing holdings and information. Knowledge of horticultural and/or botanical subjects preferred; acquaintance with CBHL a plus. Experience working in archives or a Certified Archivist designation preferred. Familiarity with book publishing desired.
