Job Description
Purpose: This position will perform digital/online marketing and promotions work for Jefferson County Public Library
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for the Library’s digital marketing plan
- Contributes to and coordinates with the development and implementation of the Library’s marketing and communication plans
- Executes day-to-day operations of the Library’s social media outreach, including but limited to, strategy and campaign development, content development, scheduling, coordination, postings, measurement and optimization across all social media platforms
- Works collaboratively with Promotions and Marketing Manager to coordinate the delivery of marketing content to designated channels
- Assists with the development and management of internal social media teams and develops written policies and protocols as needed to coordinate social media postings and conversation across multiple channels and ensure consistency of Library messaging, positioning, brand and graphic standards
- Develops, maintains and executes the Library’s social media editorial calendar and posting schedules for Facebook, Twitter and other social media channels
- Develops implements and manages innovative ideas/promotions to grow external communities and drive greater relevance and engagement.
- Assists in the development and implementation of a benchmarking and measurement program to quantify the effectiveness of the Library’s social media program and key initiatives and monitor employee and patron perceptions. Regularly reports metrics and related analytics.
- Develops and executes JCPL’s online advertising, which includes creating an annual advertising plan, overseeing the creation, placement, monitoring of online advertisements and overseeing budget for all online placements. Manages all third-party relationships with online vendors.
- Works with Communications/Web/Social Media teams to identify, leverage, and track evangelists/influencers among the social media community.
Additional Info & Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or equivalent.
- 1 to 3 years of demonstrated experience in the execution of successful social media and digital marketing campaigns
- Regular and reliable attendance is a requirement of this position.
- Must be able to work some evenings, some weekends and minor holidays.
- Excellent communication, writing, editing skills.
- Strong strategic planning, analytic and research skills.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing social media strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives.
- Knowledge and understanding of technology, new consumer trends, and the latest in digital marketing and social media innovation.
- Ability to interact and collaborate with colleagues from all levels of the organization.
