Job Description

Looking for a Library District where you can make a difference? The Library Board of Trusteesof the Romeo District Library (http://romeodistrictlibrary.org/) seeks an experienced professional to provide vision, leadership and consistency for the staff and community.Romeo District Library is an independent taxing district with a perpetual millage exclusively dedicated to public library service. Governed by a six-member Board of Trustees (representing the communities of Washington Township, Bruce Township, and the Village of Romeo), the Library staff (22FTE) serves the 33,839 citizens in the district with a $1.8 million dollar annual budget. The Library consists of the Graubner Library and the Kezar Branch--each with its unique character and excellent staff, programs and services. This is a library district ready to grow with its communities, move forward with innovation while balancing tradition and history, and be the best library it can be for its citizens.

Additional Info & Requirements

Minimum qualifications include graduation from an accredited four year college, a Master’s Degree from an ALA Accredited School of Library Science, and four years of experience as an administrator or a department head for a public library. Successful experience as a library director reporting to a governing board, demonstrated success working with local officials, community organizations and agencies, previous experience working in a union environment, and experience leading and implementing a shared vision and a strategic planning process is desirable.

The starting salary range is $75,000 to $85,000 (with placement dependent upon experience and qualifications) with an attractive benefits package.
