Job Description

The Arapahoe Library District is a new kind of library that embraces risk and change while maintaining traditional services. The types of projects that you will be working on range from traditional I.T. software installations like payroll and accounting systems to the development of beta tech programs where we showcase up and coming technologies like Google Glass, Oculus Rift, and 3D printers to members of the public. We are in the process of building a second AV recording studio and a hacker space in a couple of our facilities. Do you want to be a part of creating the library of the future?  It is an exciting time to work at the library and if you are up to the challenge then we would love to have you come on board.

This is not a typical desktop support position. This is a position where you get to work with people to turn their ideas into a reality. In this job you will be working with clients who have a vague notion of an outcome that they need. This position works to determine the best possible solution that meets those needs while maintaining the needs of the organization. That is accomplished by taking your clients through a process of determining real needs vs. wants and identifying actual outcomes. Can you turn a casual thought or idea into an actionable project? Do you love working with people? Are you a good listener? Are you passionate about helping others to turn an undeveloped thought or idea into something attainable, measurable, and actionable? All the while can you work with people who have out of the box ideas? Can you turn that energy into something that will benefit the library and its community?
