Job Description

Job Title: Finance Manager: part finance wiz, part efficiency expert, part budget buff

Business Unit: Support Services-Finance Department

Hiring Pay range:  ($5,000-$5,833) per month DOE

Job Type: Full-time; exempt

A position you’ll love:

  • You take ownership of your department, managing and supporting your team while taking a hands-on approach to the financial functions of the district, including payroll, grant and general accounting, financial reporting, fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivables, purchasing and budgeting.
  • You enjoy sharing your knowledge through training and motivating your staff in the areas of finance and Anythink competencies.
  • You coordinate the preparation of Anythink’s comprehensive annual financial report, audit and budget, staying cool under pressure and making the process appear effortless.

  • You are responsible for reconciling the bank accounts, keeping a watchful eye on our spending and balancing our bank statements.
  • You are actively engaged and add value to Anythink’s leadership team in goal setting and strategic planning.
  • You are a wizard at coaching your super-talented finance team honestly, directly and consistently to achieve new levels of success.
  • You demonstrate excellent communication skills with staff, customers, community partners, and district leadership.
  • You are a genius at developing and implementing policies and procedures for the finance department.
  • Budgets don’t scare you; you get pumped about collaborating with departments to develop and administer a budget that aligns with Anythink’s strategic goals and keeps our finances on track.
  • You are a financial guru, preparing monthly financial statements for the Board of Trustees and the Anythink Foundation board, as well as year-end statements. You work closely with auditors to facilitate the year-end final report for the Board.
  • You’re a dynamic communicator; you can write and present in a way that helps the Anythink Board and staff understand district finances and the “why” behind the numbers.
  • You know how to manage money; you maintain all of Anythink’s funds and accounts and issue monthly reports to department heads, keeping them updated on their budget statuses.
  • You coordinate the collection of cash and revenue from the Adams County Treasurer and Anythink operations.
  • You plan and oversee the preparation of the various federal/state statutory, federal/state tax regulatory and other required financial reports related to the district, such as W-2s, 1099s, 941, etc.
  • You understand that compliance is critical in the financial world, and you have a good handle on statutes, regulatory and authoritative guidelines (GASB, GAAP), Internal Revenue Codes and regulations to ensure financial reporting and accounting policies/procedures are in compliance.
  • You are an explorer of efficiencies, evaluating, implementing and maintaining Anythink’s financial accounting systems and payroll systems.
  • Keeping our buildings and employees safe is of utmost importance; you maintain and analyze Anythink’s liability insurance and make recommendations for additions and updates to ensure proper coverage.
  • You’re a sleuth at heart, working with staff and vendors to answer questions and tackle problems that may arise.
  • You are the key holder, entrusted with the keys to the safe. You prepare and make bank deposits and manage Anythink’s accounts.
  • You love working with data, inputting it into our accounting system, databases and spreadsheets. Macros don’t scare you.
  • You demonstrate excellent communication skills with staff, vendors, customers and Anythink leadership.
  • You are there to lend a hand if needed for other projects.
  • You have great ideas to share on district committees.

Your job will involve your being “on the move” in our libraries: You will stand, walk, crouch, stoop, squat, twist, climb, push/pull up to 50 pounds, and lift up to 25 pounds.
