Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains confidentiality and discretion in all patron and staff interactions
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding any network configurations, passwords, or other security or proprietary PPLD information
  • Guides patrons through remote diagnosis and repair of general computer and communication issues
  • Provides triage for support calls and/or refers them to the appropriate IT staff as necessary
  • Utilizes online issues support database, enters tickets, directs tickets to appropriate IT staff, and follows assigned tickets through entire process
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on peripherals and executes jobsite-specific replacement of peripherals as required
  • Guides staff through remote diagnosis and repair of general computer and communication issues
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on software and hardware and executes jobsite-specific replacement of hardware and software, as required
  • Contributes to computer hardware and software inventory maintenance
  • Assists Level 3 IT Technicians in constructing software and hardware builds
  • Shares “on-call” pager response responsibilities with other IT staff members
  • Provides technical assistance for other IT projects as assigned
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Physical Requirements -- Requires the ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods and to operate standard office equipment; Requires the ability to frequently stand for extended periods; Requires the ability to frequently stoop, bend, reach, twist, and squat; Requires the ability to travel using a personal automobile and ability to drive a District IT Van when necessary; Requires the ability to periodically lift and move computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds; and requires necessary implementation of and adherence to safety procedures.

Other -- Requires a valid Colorado driver’s license or the ability to obtain one; Requires the use of a personal vehicle to travel throughout the District (mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with PPLD policy); Requires the minimum state-required amount of automobile insurance; and requires a safe driving record
