Job Description
The Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME) has an immediate need for a Contract Librarian for the 2,000-title collection of the Stuart Wallace Memorial Library housed at SME in Englewood, Colorado. We are looking for someone who can devote full time efforts for 10 weeks.
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Finish labeling each book in the collection.
- Add a subject matter color-coding system.
- Wrap rare and dust-jacketed books in Mylar.
- Organize books on the shelves.
- Order signage to direct patrons to the subject areas.
- Post an acknowledgment of funding from the AIME James Douglas Library Fund.
- Continually update and make the master listing accessible to patrons via a printout in the library and a link on SME’s website.
- Write a Mission Statement/Purpose for the library.
- Write a Policy & Procedures Manual for the library.
- Create a Receipt of Deposit form for donations.
- Create a thank-you/tax-deduction letter to send to donors.
