Job Description

What your key responsibilities will be: 

As a Library Technician II within Metadata Services in University Libraries at the University of Colorado Boulder this position receives, approves payment and catalogs serial publications in all languages and formats, using local databases and the OCLC national database. Responsibilities include:
• Updating bibliographic records to reflect most recent information for serial publications in both OCLC and local databases. Updates holdings and item records as needed in the local catalog to reflect what the library owns and where it is housed.
• Keeping track of serial material by recording its receipt and approving invoices in the serials module of the Libraries catalog.
• Cataloging serials and analyzes series in all formats and languages using the OCLC database to provide public access to materials in the Libraries catalog.
• Pulling materials from the current periodicals collections house in Norlin as they are ready to be bound.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a current Colorado resident in order to apply.
• Two years of general library experience including typing, ordering, preparing, shelving, and maintaining library materials.
Substitution: Two years of course work from an accredited college or university including twelve semester hours of library science course work may substitute for two years of the general library experience.
