Job Description

The Senior Acquisitions Manager will perform tasks that enable the timely and efficient acquisitions of firm and serial formats, ranging from books and print periodicals to electronic dissertations and patron-driven acquisitions. On a daily basis, the Senior Acquisitions Manager will serve as the work lead for firm and serials acquisitions including ordering, receiving, paying, and claiming. The Senior Acquisitions Manager will act as a liaison between library service providers (e.g. Ebsco, Yankee Book Peddler) and the Acquisitions Team, analyzing and solving issues that arise at any point in the acquisitions workflow. This position will assist the Head of Acquisitions in the monthly reconciliation process for the materials budget. This position will also coordinate large scale weeding and collection maintenance projects related to serials.

Compensation: $21.50-$26.50/hr commensurate with education and experience. 40 hours per week.

Start Date: August 2014.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Two years of library acquisitions experience.
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Library Science, Accounting, or related field.
• Experience with integrated library management systems such as Innovative Interfaces Inc. (III) and Millennium (acquisitions and serials modules).
