Share our vision to promote the value of literacy for kids, prenatal to elementary school age! Jefferson County Public Library seeks a highly motivated individual who is flexible, focused on customer service, and committed to working with a diverse population. You will collaborate with the Kids & Families team to design early literacy programs that will engage and make connections with the kids, families, and educators of Jefferson County.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- Knowledge of the Every Child Ready to Read initiatives.
- Experience in providing literacy-based storytimes.
- Conversing with kids and families in Spanish.
- Identifying and implementing emerging opportunities to connect and engage with kids and caregivers of diverse backgrounds.
- Maintaining and cultivating contact with schools, teachers, and community stakeholders.
- Staying current on children’s materials in print and digital formats.
- Maintaining records, reports, and statistics.
- Performing collection and supply management.
- Developing and preparing creative activities and crafts.
- Maintaining a flexible schedule.
- Demonstrating a high level of energy and initiative while “on the move” with kids in various settings.
