Job Description

  •  Responsible for developing and coordinating a comprehensive library instruction program. 
  • Works with the campus Essential Studies group to influence programmatic initiatives focused on university wide information literacy learning outcomes, strategic targeting of high impact classes and the development of a robust online learning curriculum. 
  • Provides a leadership role in library assessment. 
  • Collaborates on the design, teaching and assessment of library instruction curricula with a strong emphasis on utilizing active learning techniques as well as mentoring and training teaching librarians on pedagogy and assessment strategies.
  • Serves as a member of a team who provides direct assistance and guidance to library users through reference and instructional services and serves as liaison bibliographer to assigned academic departments assisting in collection development to meet the needs for faculty and students.

Additional Info & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Graduate library degree from an American Library Association accredited program.
  • 3 years relevant academic or research library experience.
  • Successful completion of a criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in education and/or coursework in information literacy.
  • Keen awareness and skills in emerging instructional technologies.
  • Experience with assessment of library instruction and services.
  • Experience in managing or developing an information literacy program.
  • Experience in collection development.
  • Experience providing reference service.
  • Strong public service skills to provide leadership for outreach and promotion initiatives to other library and campus departments and groups.
