Job Description

Job Overview

The Researcher Support and Data Services, Department Head position will lead a team of librarians that provide a variety of services including: research/reference consultation, information discovery strategies, collection management and development, productivity and citation management tools, scholarly communications and copyright, grant support, data, GIS and visualization services. Researcher Support and Data Services department is housed within the Education, Research, and Access Services division. This position will report to the Associate Director of Education, Research, and Access Services.

Compensation: $65,000-$75,000 commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Library or Information Science, or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Five years of relevant experience in an academic or research library.
  • Two years of supervisory experience in a library.

Our ideal candidate is a librarian that has experience building working relationships and collaborations with academic programs and/or higher education faculty. This librarian holds an advanced degree in a discipline relevant to the portfolio of services offered by the department. She or he stays abreast of emerging technologies critical to the design and delivery of information and research services. Our ideal librarian has experience working successfully with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, including international scholars, faculty, and students.

The Auraria Library is located on the Auraria Campus in downtown Denver, Colorado and is administered by the University of Colorado Denver. The Library serves 45,000 students from three institutions of higher education on the Auraria Campus – University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Community College of Denver. The Library welcomes over 900,000 visitors each year.
