We serve a county with a population of 90,000 with a central library, three branches and a vibrant outreach service. Calvert Library is well-respected, deeply engaged in our community and forward thinking.  As our vision states: Calvert Library is your destination for imagination, information and inspiration.  We live that vision every day in our extensive offering of events and classes, our collections both digital and physical, and our excellent customer service.

All four locations are open 61 hours a week.  We are closed on Friday mornings to allow time for staff training and meetings; there are currently no Sunday hours at Calvert Library. The library has two outreach vehicles, 54.2 FTE, circulation over 1 million, budget of $3.9 million, our librarians answered almost 154,000 reference questions and over 55,000 customers attended library events.

The position is full time, 35 hours per week, exempt.  There are occasional weekend and evening hours, but most work weeks are Monday through Friday, 9-5.  This position is based in the Administrative Office in Prince Frederick.

Compensation: Starting salary is $51,415.  The library offers competitive health, dental and vision benefits and a Maryland State Retirement Plan.
