Job Description
The Savage Library of Western State Colorado University seeks a full-time dynamic, service-oriented librarian to manage the cataloging and technical services operations of the library and to participate in staffing the reference desk. The technical services librarian performs original cataloging on monographs, serials, AV, archives, manuscripts, and electronic resources as needed; manages copy cataloging, materials processing, and other technical services operations; serves as the library’s liaison to the integrated library system’s consortium (Marmot Library Network); manages the university’s archives and special collections and collection of government publications; coordinates planning for a digital repository to provide access to faculty/student work and university documents; staffs the reference desk in rotation with other library staff; and participates in hiring, training, and supervising student staff as needed. Additional duties include participating with other library staff members in collection development, committee work, and setting goals and objectives for the library. Work schedule is Sunday through Thursday, including Sunday and Monday evenings. The technical services librarian reports to the director of library services.
