Job Description

What You’ll Do:

Work downtown at the Central Library in the Information Technology Department to create positive experiences for library customers by performing full-performance professional information technology work.  Plan and coordinate the installation and configuration of operating system hardware and software and user application software.  Maintain and repair complex problems with system hardware and software.  Modify operating system hardware and software to increase performance and meet technical design requirements with a strong emphasis on providing both internal and external customer service.

You Have:

Knowledge of System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and related technologies (DHCP, DNS, WDS) at an expert level. Knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 7 and Window 8 Desktop Operating Systems as well as Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 Server Operating Systems and administration at an expert level. Knowledge of OS security, OS file structure, OS Registry, Active Directory administration, Group Policy, remote desktop, LAN/WAN knowledge, wired and wireless technologies, application installation and administration at an expert level.  Knowledge of MS-SQL and Windows Power Shell scripting at a basic level.  Skill in working with attention to detail. Skill in interpreting, communicating and presenting information. Ability to perform software and hardware research, testing and integration for networks, PCs and new technologies. Ability to bring projects to a timely completion while working independently or with other team members. Ability to implement methodologies to ensure data integrity and assist in disaster recovery. Ability to creatively solve problems, negotiate and handle stressful situations in a positive manner. Ability to create and maintain positive staff relationships. Ability to communicate effectively with both individuals and groups. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Ability to demonstrate innovation and flexibility. Ability to work with a diverse group of people. .  Ability to use extensive technology including email, internet, databases, eMedia, social media and other software.  Ability to pass a background check after the offer to hire has been made. 

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. A combination of appropriate education and experience, including professional certifications and licenses, may be substituted for the minimum education requirements.

Two years of professional Information Technology experience with implementing, maintaining, and modifying IT systems. Experience with Active Directory administration, operating system software, application programming and system configuration including Windows Server 2012 and 2008 R2 in a VMware environment.

Microsoft and/or Server+ certifications (preferred, not required).

We Provide:

$29.34 - $38.14 per hour starting salary range; $29.34 - $46.95 per hour full salary range.

Although the full salary range for this position is provided, offers are typically made within the starting salary range and depend on qualifications.  The City and County of Denver benefit package will be offered.

Regular, full-time, 40 hours per week. The schedule will be determined by the needs of the department and will include evenings and weekend hours.
