Job Description
What You’ll Do:
Work with the Gonzales Branch Library team to build and implement programming targeted to the City of Denver’s population including (but not limited to) low-income and under-resourced community members. With the support of library resources, help participants create individualized plans to meet their goals and provide ongoing guidance to support learners of all ages. Monitor and evaluate program performance. Collaborate with community partners such as Gale/Cengage Career Online High School, Denver Human Services, Denver Office of Economic Development, Community College of Denver and other key stakeholders.
You Have:
Knowledge of programming, facilitating group conversations, training and development practices. Skill in designing, preparing, promoting, implementing, delivering and evaluating programs. Skill in presenting information to a diverse audience in a wide range of ages and cultures, both individually and in groups. Skill in choosing appropriate materials for programs and outreach. Ability to ensure that detailed requirements, services and reporting activities are met. Ability to exercise initiative, judgment and decision making in meeting organizational objectives. Ability to relate to the needs of customers of all ages and skill levels, including those without English language proficiency. Ability to thrive working in an environment with constant public contact with people from all backgrounds and age groups. Ability to demonstrate positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity and a sense of humor in working with customers, coworkers and community. Ability to creatively solve problems, negotiate and handle stressful situations in a positive manner. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Ability to use extensive workplace and other technology including email, internet, databases, social media and other software. Ability to pass a background check after the offer to hire has been made.
Three years of experience organizing all aspects of a program and delivering program services in a library, educational institution, community non-profit or adult learning organization. Experience coordinating program services involving several organizational entities.
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
A desire to work with intergenerational groups in a multilingual environment.
Excellent customer service skills.
We Provide:
$21.19 - $27.55 per hour starting salary range; $21.19 - $33.91 per hour full salary range.
Although the full salary range for this position is provided, offers are typically made within the starting salary range and depend on qualifications. The City and County of Denver benefit package will be offered.
Regular, full-time, 40 hours per week. The schedule will be determined by the needs of the branch and will include evening and weekend hours.
