Job Description

The University of Colorado at Boulder Libraries invites applications from innovative and enthusiastic service-oriented professionals for the position of Business Research & Instruction Librarian. The Business Research & Instruction Librarian is a one-year faculty position reporting to the Head of the Business Library, within the Social Sciences Department. Duties include general and specialized reference in the social sciences with an emphasis on business; virtual reference; instruction services and classroom teaching as part of an active library instruction program; and selecting library materials and managing collections. This position serves as part of the Business Library and will share responsibility for providing advanced research assistance and information literacy instruction to students and faculty in the Leeds School of Business. The Business Research and Instruction Librarian will actively participate in planning and delivery of services both in Business and in the Social Sciences Department. 

Appointment and Salary:  The successful candidate will be appointed as a temporary, full-time lecturer at an annual salary of $41,000.  This is a one-year appointment.  Benefits include eligibility for the University group health care plan.  This is a temporary position without funding to support relocation.

Position Requirements:  Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library school; familiarity with business information sources; coursework and/or experience in providing reference for the social sciences; coursework and/or experience with library instruction or teaching; coursework and/or experience with creating and using relevant information technologies such as Drupal, html, etc.; demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively; strong interpersonal skills; and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:  Undergraduate or graduate degree in Business or a related field; coursework and/or experience providing reference and/or instruction to Business students; one-two years of experience in an academic library; experience in collection development; experience employing quantitative or qualitative research methodologies; understanding of data manipulation technologies; and a record of research or professional service.
