Job Description

Are some of your favorite people spending their days in middle school or high school?  Do your interests inlcude gaming, tech toys, and young adult fiction?  Would you describe yourself as creative, highly energetic, and an excellent communicator?  We are looking for you as our next Teen Services Librarian.

The Teen Services Librarian is under the general direction of the Public Services Manager.  He/She will provide timely reference services; excellent reader's advisory instruction; innovative and creative programs; effective collection development; and perform limited circulation duties for teens, their families and others using teen resources, both inside the library as well as in schools and the community.  Schedule is Monday - Thursday from 11:30 am - 8:00 pm and rotating weekends.  Must have an ALA accredited Master's Degree in Library Science or Information Science.  One year's experience as a professional librarian in a municipal, public, or school with a strong teen service expertise is preferred.  Experience with STEM programs and applications a huge plus!  Hiring range  is $45,281 - $52,083 DOQ.  Must apply online at www.Louisvilleco.gov by 3pm on February 18, 2015 to be considered for the position.
