Job Description

Are you dedicated to meeting the literacy needs of young children and their families?  Passionate about going the extra mile to deliver the best customer service?  Creative and energetic in developing programs and a library collection for youth?  The Louisville Public Library seeks a highly motivated and energetic Librarian to join our excellent Children's Services Division as we help young children become readers.

The part-time (20 hours per week, non-benefited) Librarian I - Children's Services will work under the general direction of the Public Services Manager.  He/She will work in partnership with other Children's Librarians, will provide timely reference services; excellent reader's advisory and library instruction; innovative and creative programming; effective collection development; and perform limited circulation duties for children and their families inside the library as well as in schools and the community.  The schedule includes some evenings and rotating weekend hours.  Must have an ALA accredited Master's Degree in Library Science or Information Science.  Hiring range is $21.77 per hour to $25.04 DOQ.
