Job Description

Jefferson County Public Library has opportunities in two of our branch locations. These two libraries offer a very different and unique working environment - one suited to the larger volume library (Lakewood) and one serving a much smaller, community library (Edgewater).

As part of the Edgewater Library, you will be an integral piece of a three person library staff that performs all library tasks to include: emptying the book drops, shelving, performing customer service transactions, troubleshooting IT problems, handling building emergencies, providing reading and media advisory, hosting programs and building collaboration within the library system and with the Edgewater Community. This position will support and promote outreach programs to the Spanish language populations in the greater Edgewater community.

As a member of the Lakewood Library staff, you will be working at one of our largest libraries. This library services a larger area of the Lakewood community and serves a diverse population. Your role will be more specific to providing information to patrons in person, by phone or by mail/email. Your role of a support staff person will involve performing research activities for patrons, advising patrons on materials and locating those materials for patrons.

Both of these positions will require that you be a fluent Spanish speaker, reader and writer.

· Advises and instructs library patrons in using equipment necessary to access library resources.

· May present programming training or classes to the public; this positon will be required to do Storytimes both on or off site.
