Job Description

You will be the face of JCPL in the Jefferson County community. This position is responsible for providing library services, programs and access to resources for the underserved including Spanish speakers, the homeless, people with disabilities and others across Jefferson County.

You will embed yourself in the community through outreach to special populations, especially to Spanish speakers. You will participate in the development, delivery and promotion of outreach programs and services to meet the needs of special populations. This includes, the option to be “booked” by individuals and organizations for more in-depth reference assistance, conduct bilingual storytimes or to come speak to groups for education or research. You will be responsible for purchasing Spanish language materials and maintenance of the Spanish Language collection. You will be responsible for translating promotional materials in Spanish. Some of your time will be spent “on the floor” in a library to add to your understanding of patrons’ needs.
