Job Description
This position exists to catalog monographic and non-print materials, in tangible and electronic formats, for the James A. Michener Library and Skinner Music Library, including new titles and added copies/volumes; oversee the physical processing of these materials; expedite processing and cataloging of rush and hold materials; ensure efficient and accurate distribution of newly cataloged materials; perform authority control and other database maintenance activities to ensure integrity of data in the integrated library system (ILS); contribute to digitization projects for inclusion in Digital UNC; and order departmental supplies efficiently and accurately.
Additional Info & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: Two years of general library experience including keyboarding, ordering, preparing, shelving, or maintaining library materials. Some positions may require specific skills and familiarity with library routines and procedures.
Substitutions: Two years of course work from an accredited college or university including 12 semester hours of library science course work may substitute for 2 years of the general library experience.
