Job Description

The Auraria Library is located on the Auraria Campus in downtown Denver, Colorado and is administered by the University of Colorado Denver. The Library serves 45,000 students from three institutions of higher education on the Auraria Campus – University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Community College of Denver. The Library welcomes over 900,000 visitors each year. The Auraria Library is undergoing an exciting $25 million renovation to share a truly 21st century research, learning, and collaboration space with our constituents. Job Overview

The Auraria Library seeks a motivated and professional MLIS graduate student with an interest in Acquisitions or Technical Services work. This position will be part of the Acquisitions Team within the Technical Services Department. The Acquisitions Team is responsible for acquiring materials for the library in all formats (databases, ejournals, ebooks, streaming video, print books, etc.) via a variety of methods (direct, consortially, EBA, DDA, etc.).  This position will have the opportunity to learn about acquisition workflows and best practices while working in a professional library environment. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to, assisting the Acquisitions Team with serial renewals, quality control of order and bibliographic records, data maintenance in the integrated library system, and standardization of policy and procedure documentation.  

Compensation: $12.50/hr 10-20 hours per week. Hours are flexible between M-F, 8am-5pm.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours during Summer or Fall 2015 at an ALA accredited graduate program in library/information science.
  • Interest in Acquisitions or Technical Services.
