Job Description

The Library 2 You Department offers bookmobile service, home service delivery for the disabled, and other developing programs and services. Library 2 You serves patrons in Jefferson County by bringing library resources outside library walls to those with limited accessibility to branches either due to geographical distance, disabilities, or limiting circumstances.

Your Role: You are a driven professional with a commitment to serve and impact the lives of others through library resources and services. You take pride and ownership in providing quality library resources and excellent customer service. You contribute your voice and ideas to a small team that has a big impact. You participate in a team approach and are able to fill all roles of Library 2 You, but are the point person for the home service program and unique programming. You are an ambassador for libraries and their role in a community, connecting and keeping a connection to library resources and services for unique populations. You stay current in outreach services in order to adapt to the needs of older adults, people with disabilities, and those re-entering the community after incarceration. You are a self-motivated, friendly, problem solver with attention to details and best practices for operations and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

· Set up and maintain institutional accounts for nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other providers.
· Coordinate volunteer delivery routes and training for home service delivery program.
· Maintain Access database of home service and nursing home accounts.
· Provide readers advisory, reference skills, and monthly selection materials for patrons.
· Promote the services of the Library 2 You department and JCPL system-wide programs and services.
· Develop passive and remote programming opportunities for patrons outside library walls.
· Order and process patron materials.
· Monitor and conduct collection maintenance.
· Communicate regularly with patrons and cooperating facilities to promote library services and resources.
· Apply latest technology and social media trends for service promotion and communication.
· Safely operate a 28-foot vehicle on designated routes twice per week (regular driver’s license).
· Maintain a good driving record.
· Track and record statistics.
· Lift up to 35 to 40 lbs.
· Identify and collaborate with potential community agencies focused on service to seniors and patrons without mobility.
· Market services to increase use and circulation.
· Participate in community outreach programs.
· Contribute to the expansion of services and growth of existing services

Additional Info & Requirements

Must be able to work some evenings, weekends and minor holidays. Ability to adapt to scheduling needs is required.
