Job Description

Job Overview

This a temporary 9-month appointment. This temporary position will not lead to a full-time permanent position.

Duties:

  • Manages the Auraria Library’s resource lifecycle of direct serials including analyzing pricing, negotiating with vendors, licensing, ordering, paying invoices, registration/access/check-in, claiming, maintenance, preservation, troubleshooting and assessment in all formats (print, electronic, microform, etc.).
  • Identifies electronic serials with license agreements set to expire each year and structures new deals if needed.
  • Reviews, reconciles, and solves issues on monthly print serial & standing order invoice statements.
  • Oversees bindery, including sending, receiving, in-house repair, and managing bindery budget to remain within annual allocation.
  • Assists with troubleshooting electronic journal access issues, including link resolver issues.
  • Works with Serials Solutions knowledgebase to manage serials holdings.
  • Collaborates with Senior Acquisitions Manager to create workflows for serials and standing orders.
  • Collects, compiles, and distributes usage statistics and data for internal and external reports, and serial cancellation projects.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in a library or higher education environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • MLIS degree
  • Experience with library acquisitions and serials
  • Experience with Acquisitions and Serials module of an Integrated Library Management System (ILMS), such as Sierra
  • Experience working with library vendors, such as EBSCO, Harrassowitz, and Lexis

Compensation: $18-$22/hr commensurate with education and experience. 40 hours per week.
