Job Overview
This a temporary 9-month appointment. This temporary position will not lead to a full-time permanent position.
Duties:
- Manages the Auraria Library’s resource lifecycle of direct serials including analyzing pricing, negotiating with vendors, licensing, ordering, paying invoices, registration/access/check-in, claiming, maintenance, preservation, troubleshooting and assessment in all formats (print, electronic, microform, etc.).
- Identifies electronic serials with license agreements set to expire each year and structures new deals if needed.
- Reviews, reconciles, and solves issues on monthly print serial & standing order invoice statements.
- Oversees bindery, including sending, receiving, in-house repair, and managing bindery budget to remain within annual allocation.
- Assists with troubleshooting electronic journal access issues, including link resolver issues.
- Works with Serials Solutions knowledgebase to manage serials holdings.
- Collaborates with Senior Acquisitions Manager to create workflows for serials and standing orders.
- Collects, compiles, and distributes usage statistics and data for internal and external reports, and serial cancellation projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in a library or higher education environment
Preferred Qualifications
- MLIS degree
- Experience with library acquisitions and serials
- Experience with Acquisitions and Serials module of an Integrated Library Management System (ILMS), such as Sierra
- Experience working with library vendors, such as EBSCO, Harrassowitz, and Lexis
Compensation: $18-$22/hr commensurate with education and experience. 40 hours per week.
