Job Description

To assist the director in leading Student Disability Services and University Testing; to include case management of students with disabilities (intake meetings, LOAs, follow up with faculty and students); oversight for all student disability and testing accommodations for Regis College (RC), Rueckert-Hartman College of Health Professions (RHCHP), College of Professional Studies (CPS), College of Computers and Information Science (CC&IS), College of Business and Economics (COBE) to include oversight of assistive technology. To oversee the provision of testing for qualified students with disabilities, student makeup exams (non-disability-related), classroom exams, and non-Regis test candidates who seek test proctoring for standardized exams from the Regis University Testing Center.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

 Manage a direct caseload of students with disabilities including intake interviews and accommodations provision (25%)
 Interact with faculty from RC, HRCHP, COBE, CC&IS, and CPS by email, phone and face-to-face contact on disability accommodations/issues and general testing concerns/ issues (15%)
 Interact with students by email, phone, skype and personal contact on disability accommodations/issues and general testing concerns/issues (10%)
 Develop and implement educational outreach to faculty, administration, and staff on current disability issues (9%).
 Keep current on standardized testing standards (CLEP, DSST, Regis Challenge Exams, NLN, MAT, TEAS, etc.) to provide effective testing environments and testing updates for University Testing (8%)
 Maintain current and clear case notes on each student/faculty/parent interaction (6%)
 Supervise the accommodations coordinator re: assistive technology, to include book conversion from print format into audio format; ordering of audio books, downloading Read and Write Gold onto personal computers; screen readers, interpreter contracts and outsourcing braille and interpreter services. etc. (5%)
 Supervise the daily activities of the coordinator of the SDS/UT to include revenue tracking and daily stats. (5%)
 Develop and maintain contact with test candidates and outside testing vendors re: standardized and specialized non-Regis University exams (4%)
 Review disability documentation to determine disability status (4%)
 Support testing needs of students and test candidates (revenue generating tests) when needed, including proctoring of exams (4%)
 Work with non-Regis test candidates to serve as a licensed proctored test site (3%)
 Make appropriate student referrals to internal and external sources (2%)
 Demonstrate effective decision making concerning Regis University policy and disability and testing regulations affecting appropriate accommodations that are consistent with SDS&UT policy and procedures
 Stay current in your field and share that knowledge with your Colleagues.
 Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of the SDS & UT

May involve weekend, early morning, late afternoon and/or early evening hours including proctoring of exams that extend outside of regular 8:30 to 5:00 p.m. hours

Minimum Qualifications

- Master’s degree in psychology or counseling, disability studies, or equivalent degree (Minimum)
- Must have supervision experience (minimum)
- Three years experience in higher education or equivalent (Desired)
