Job Description
The Summit County Library is currently seeding a Library Aide to work 40 hours per week at the South Branch Library in Breckenridge, including some nights and weekends. Successful candidate will be responsible for planning and presenting children's programs for ages preschool through 5th grade with energy and enthusiasm. Other library duties include, but are not limited to circulation desk, answering patron reference and computer questions (internet, online databases), answering phones, shelving books (reaching and bending), creating displays and developing other ideas for promoting the library.
Additional Info & Requirements
Applicant will have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be organized with a high level of attention to detail. Computer skills are required, including proficiency with Email, MS Office, Internet and comfortable learning library software. Previous experience working with children is imperative. Should be creative and ready to plan, organize and present programs. Customer service and ability to deal with the public effectively is a must, as well as keeping up with the physical demands of shelving and carrying books. A minimum of high school education, but college degree preferred. Must be dependable, a self-starter and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Bilingual a plus.
