Job Description

The Rangeview Library District in Northglenn, CO, is seeking an innovative Collection Development Librarian who is passionate about connecting people with literature and information. Bring your experience in community analysis, collection evaluation, weeding and materials selection to help Rangeview become a “best in class” library. We are looking for a versatile; customer focused Collection Development Library who will: • Work with Vendors to implement ordering and delivery of shelf ready materials. •Conduct a community analysis in conjunction with branch staff to identify current and potential library users. • Work with branch managers to evaluate the collection and identify gaps, make recommendations for weeding, and develop RLD’s collection policies. • Make system wide buying decisions and coordinate branch requests for the purchase of print, non-print and digital, journals and databases. • Supervise the ordering of all materials insuring expedited workflows. • Serve a minimum of 8 hours a week at various branch customer service desks to maintain an in depth understanding of our patrons information needs. • Maintain records for budgeted funds related to the acquisitions of all materials. Utilize circulation data to make informed buying decisions.

Additional Info & Requirements

Minimum qualifications: MLS from an ALA-accredited Library School, four years full-time related library experience, including two years full-time experience in collection development. Desired qualifications: one year of experience selecting materials in multi-branch public library system; significant experience with electronic ordering systems such as Title Source-3 or I-Page. Experience using the Horizon Acquisition, Cataloging and Circulation System highly desirable.
