Job Description
We're looking to hire a talented and energetic communications professional who can give voice to our stories in both traditional and emerging platforms. In coordination with Library staff and under supervision of the Programs & Community Engagement Manager, the Library Marketing & Communications Coordinator designs and creates promotional and informational materials for Library programs, services, and events consistent with Library brand and graphic standards and assists the Library's Foundation with similar communications support. This is a part-time position scheduled 20 hours per week.

Essential Functions
- Promotes the mission, vision and values of the Library and its programs and services across various social media channels.
- Takes, edits, and posts pictures and videos that are on-brand and on-trend
- Writes and/or edits content that communicates the value of the Library to our community and establishes a unique and recognizable voice for the Library.
- Creates electronic newsletters for Library customers.
- Serves as back-up to the Library's web coordinator in maintaining the Library's web pages, intranet, or other web-based tools as needed.
- The Library Marketing & Communications Coordinator will be cross-trained to provide general Library service and may be called upon to fill in for staff at public service points as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Identifies, interprets, and assesses social media trends and develops measurable objectives to evaluate the success of marketing strategies and communications tools
- Presents a consistent visual identity to distinguish the Lafayette Public Library within the city and local region.
