Job Description

Collection Development - LIBRARY TECHNICIAN III G3C4XX POSTING 805129 for position # 101417 Paygrade G42 ($1,564 - $2,000 monthly, dependent on experience, for half-time position) 08/08 lel Note: This position is a part-time, 50% position and typically works a schedule of 20 hours per week. This position exists to support collection development activities for e-books, journals and databases; to design and implement procedures for consistent University branding of databases; to review license terms in contracts and to enter appropriate terms of use in the electronic resource management system; to manage departmental websites and documentation, including collections-related policies, consortia data, and budget reports; to participate in the selection and evaluation of library resources; to participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Additional Info & Requirements

Minimum Requirements: Four years full-time (or equivalent) of general library experience involving typing, ordering, preparing, shelving, and maintaining library materials, which must include database searching and specific experience working with serials and electronic resources in an online integrated library system. Necessary Special Requirements: Note: The University of Colorado at Boulder is committed to providing a safe and productive learning and living community. Highly Desirable Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have experience implementing collections related projects and procedures and will be familiar with Web applications such as HTML codes; have expertise with MS Excel, Office and electronic databases. The successful candidate will have an understanding of copyright issues. Substitution: Two years of course work from an accredited college or university including twelve semester hours of library science course work may substitute for two years of the general library experience, but not for the specific administrative experience with an integrated online library system.
