Job Description

Platt College, located in Aurora, Colorado, invites applications for the position for part-time Library Technician. Platt College offers the bachelor and associate degrees in graphic arts and a bachelor degree in nursing with a total of 150 students. The programs of the College are fully accredited with ACCSCT and the Colorado State Board of Nursing (the Bachelor of Science in nursing). The Learning Resource Center is considered an academic, medical and special library. The Learning Resource Center is supervised by a full-time Information Specialist with an MLIS degree. The library technician’s responsibilities would include assistance with acquiring, preparing and organizing materials and help users to find those materials. The technician would also be responsible for copy cataloging existing resources and overseeing the circulation of library materials. Excellent customer service skills are mandatory to the faculty and students. The starting hours are 20 per week with a schedule of 3-7pm with a possibility of increasing 25-30 hours per week. There will be flexibility one day a week to adjust the hours if technician has classes.
