Job Description

50% SUPERVISION - Supervises department employees by planning, coaching, and reviewing performance in order to optimize the performance of department employees. 25% LEADERSHIP – Leads Library District customer service model by modeling, empowering, and holding staff accountable and seeks feedback and ideas from others in order to promote and campaign the library district’s service model. 20% OPERATIONS - Supervises daily operations of the unit by getting information and making sense of it, communicating information to employees, organizing resources and making decisions in order to ensure the proper functioning of the operational unit. 5% COMPLAINTS - Resolves complaints from the public and employees by researching problems, seeking alternative solutions, and making decisions to satisfy patrons and employee concerns.

The Community

Established in 1966, the Arapahoe Library District serves more than 200,000 residents living in Arapahoe County. Arapahoe County and other major suburban counties make up the greater metropolitan area surrounding Denver, Colorado. The Arapahoe Library District operates eight branch libraries, an Outreach Service that provides mobile library services, and a library at the County Detention Center, funded by the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Department. A seven-member Board of Trustees sets the library budget and determines policy.
