Job Description

Position will provide reference assistance in the Children's Room to children, young adults, caregivers, and other individuals working with children. Additional responsibilities include providing reference assistance using community, text, and electronic resources, including online searching; conducting tours and story times; creating displays; developing special programs; assisting with the development and delivery of children's programs and patron education; reviewing, recommending materials, and collaborating on collection development; and establishing and managing relationships with outside agencies and organizations. Reports to the Head of Children's Information Services. The successful candidate will show an ability to exhibit energy and a welcoming attitude when working with all age groups. This person will participate in the performance of circulation tasks.

We serve a wide population of children, caregivers and local schools with heavily attended storytimes and multiple daily class visits and tours.Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and minor holidays.
