Job Description

Circulation Manager – Law Library (LIBRARY TECHNICIAN III) G3C4XN POSTING 807036 for position #106285 Paygrade G42 This is a 80% Part-Time position ($2,502) Note: This an 80% part-time position with some weekend work required, to work a schedule of 32 hours per week. This position typically works a schedule of Sunday-Thursday; a shift of Monday-Friday is available when the library is closed on weekends. Nature of Work: This Circulation Manager manages the circulation activities of the Law School Library including the scheduling, training and supervising of student workers. This person utilizes the Innovative Interfaces, Inc. (III) integrated library system to create and maintain patron records and process notices. This position also organizes and manages stacks maintenance and shelving operations; develops and documents procedures for the circulation unit and maintains an inventory of the library collection. The position also participates in circulation desk activities for at least two shifts per week, solves problems as needed and assists with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: Four years full-time (or equivalent) of general library experience involving typing, ordering, preparing, shelving, and maintaining library materials including two years of library experience involving cataloging/classifying, providing reference and patron services, and creating/revising procedures which must have included experience with an online integrated library system. Highly Desirable Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess experience working in a library environment including scheduling and supervising staff and students; the ability to manage a budget; and experience using the Innovative Interfaces, Inc. (III) Millennium library system. The successful candidate will be an organized, team player with excellent customer service skills and have the ability to work one weekend day and possibly some evenings. Substitution: Two years of course work from an accredited college or university including twelve semester hours of library science course work may substitute for two years of the general library experience. **Please Note: If education is used to meet the minimum requirements, you must submit a transcript copy by the closing date.** Necessary Special Qualifications: Note: The University of Colorado at Boulder is committed to providing a safe and productive learning and living community.
