Job Description

Note: This position is full-time and is expected to work night shifts that will correspond to Norlin Library's evening hours. Hours typically vary, but can be assigned anywhere between the hours of 8:00 am to midnight, dependent upon academic schedule and semester breaks. Most shifts will be in the evening until the library closes. Second shift pay differential applies when appropriate. Nature of Work: This Evening Assistant Circulation Desk Supervisor will: assist with supervision and training of Libraries Access Services student assistants in circulation and document delivery processing during evening/weekend hours; respond to patron e-mail queries sent to departmental account; resolve patron service difficulties, including fines negotiations and assessments, processing damaged materials, claims returned materials, and missing materials; provide circulation and general reference services to patrons; serve as liaison between all Libraries Service Points and Security during evening/weekend hours.

Second shift pay differential applies when appropriate. **Highest salary range is an estimate with shift differential applied** Minimum Requirements: Two years full time (or equivalent) of general library experience involving circulation, typing, preparing, shelving, and maintaining library materials which must have included administrative experience with an online library system. Necessary Special Requirement: The University of Colorado at Boulder is committed to providing a safe and productive learning and living community. Highly Desirable Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have experience with being a lead worker or supervisor, familiarity with Innovative Interfaces Millennium software, and experience with scanning technology. The successful candidate will be an organized, team player with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Substitution: Two years of course work from an accredited college or university including twelve semester hours of library science course work may substitute for two years of the general library experience, but not for the specific administrative experience with an online library system.
