Job Description

• Provides overall supervision and direction of the Acquisitions and Collection Development units • Manages the ordering, receiving and processing of library materials • Participates in the overall management of the collection including participating in the long-range plans for the direction of the collection • Develops and maintains ongoing effective relationships with vendors • Administers the materials budget including maintaining sound accounting practices • Administers or makes recommendations on personnel matters affecting subordinates, including interviewing and hiring staff; assigning, scheduling, appraising, disciplining, etc. • Designs, develops and conducts training for staff on collection development and maintenance techniques and procedures • Participates in the development and direction of Jefferson County Public Library through service on the Collections Leadership Team, task forces and committees
