Job Description
*Display a thorough knowledge of the subject matter and the District's prescribed curriculum. *Plan instruction consistent with the District's curriculum for assigned subject areas/grade levels. *Plan for student differences and adjust instruction to meet student needs. *Implement continuous system of evaluations and provide students with specific feedback. *Serve as facilitator and coordinator of learning. *Establish an effective system for classroom discipline per Board Policy and building regulations. *Organize students for effective instruction to maximize the learning time for all students. *Fulfill contractual and professional responsibilities. *Submit required student record reports. *Read and tell stories to classes. *Read new materials. *Shelve books and materials. *Check books in and out to students and teachers. *Keep records for reading program. *Find teaching materials for teachers. *Mend materials. *Order books and materials and process for use. *Inventory materials. *Set up, conduct and take down book fair. *Perform other duties as assigned.Additional Info & Requirements
*Possess a valid Colorado Teacher License with appropriate endorsement in the area you are teaching or obtain one prior to start. *Be up to date on current learning theory and state of the art pedagogy in teaching. *Demonstrate effective interpersonal relationships with students, staff members, parents and administrators. *Has knowledge and experience of and/or willingness to gain knowledge of standards-based education approaches. *Must pass various pre-employment background screenings *More than one year and up to and including three years of experience in library environment. *Intermediate Dewey Decimal knowledge and alphabetizing skills. *Oral and written communication skills. *English language skills. *Interpersonal relations skills. *Personal computer and keyboarding skills. *Customer service and public relations skills. *Critical thinking and problem solving skills. *Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, Superintendent policies and building and department procedures. *Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator. *Has knowledge and experience of and/or willingness to gain knowledge of standards-based education approaches. *Knowledge and/or experience in career academy. *Willingness to engage in school-wide high school advisory and mentoring programs. *Experience and/or skills working with culturally diverse populations desired.HR Info
